- Grief specialists understand that the responsibility for change lies with the griever. We can inform, reflect, and support others. The grief journey is ultimately theirs.
Suicide Education/Training
ASIST – 16 hour in-person course providing the words, skills and tools to conduct an intervention
safeTALK – 3.5-4 hour in-person training course, on seeing the warning signs and referring to resources that can help
QPR – a 1.5-2 hour course that may be delivered in-person or on-line

Grief Education
As a Grief Educator and certified thanatologist, Kris can tailor topics to meet the needs of an organization or group. She has expertise in offering seminars, brown bags, and workshops on a wide variety of topics.

- Grieving the Holidays – helping grievers make and discovery new rituals to incorporate the memory of the lost loved one
- Needs of the dying or grievers – its more than 5-stages. Kris shares current research tools and information that will help loved ones support those who are dying as well as those who are grieving
- Grief across the lifespan
- It ain’t Over Until the paperwork is done – Living Wills/POA for healthcare; wills; and POA for finances
- Supporting the helper – self-care for the caregiver
- Grief 101 – does grieving differ when it’s a child? A suicide? A spouse? An accident or a death associated with an illness. The types of loss does make a difference; learn about them and how the most effective ways to help someone.
- How to live well until you die –
- Having a conversation with your loved ones and healthcare provider.
- What is the difference between an advance directive, living will, and health care directive? Some people want to have everything done; others don’t want either a breathing or feeding tube.

Grief Support, Coaching and Retreats
Support groups can be an effective way grievers learn and heal. There are several options –
A 8-week course using Understanding Grief book and workbook by Alan Woelfelt. This is a group for people who are grieving all kinds of losses, using a structure discussion revolving around a book.
Currently working to become certified, Kris is trained in the art of coaching people through their
grief. This is conducted as a 1:1 over zoom using active listening skills and coaching techniques to move a
person forward with their grief.
